Datvest Asset Management (Private) Limited traces its beginnings back to 1990, when Dataworld (Private) Limited was established.  Dataworld (Private) Limited was responsible for developing the now well known financial markets’ analysis software package, Dataworld Sharepower, and several other investment related software systems. 

Following the successful inauguration of Dataworld, a monthly newsletter providing Zimbabwe’s first independent analysis and commentary on the ZSE on a subscription basis was launched in 1991.  As the readership of The Newsletter grew, so too did requests for investment advice and services.  It became clear that there was strong demand for the group to extend its operations, and portfolio management was a natural progression.  A managed investment portfolio service was introduced in 1993 and three unit trusts, offering investments into both the Stockmarket and the money market, were launched in 1994.

In June 2005, CBZ Holdings Limited acquired the entire issued share capital of Interfin Asset Management t/a Datvest from Interfin Holdings Limited.  Under CBZ Holdings Group of Companies, Datvest Asset Management continues to remain largely independent and operates autonomously within the CBZ structure.  Datvest Asset Management is now one of the largest investment companies in the country, with some     $70 miillion invested in the Stockmarket and money market.  The company has a relatively small, but prestigious base of high net worth individuals, corporates and pension funds, which allows us to guarantee the efficient service for which we have become renowned.  This, coupled with a dedicated team and the most comprehensive financial database in the country, gives Datvest Asset Management a substantial advantage over its competitors.
