Our control systems revolve around the integrated software system, Dataworld Sharepower.  This is comprised of the following modules:

These systems were written and designed in-house and are still utilised by many financial institutions within Zimbabwe.  Our own systems have been substantially modified to suit the Asset Management business, including the establishment of a fully integrated dealing system.

A feature of the automated process is that all of the back-office processing is checked and authorised by a Director through the use of daily audit trails, deal notes, valuation reports and physical scrip counts of money market and equity securities.

Our back office is further segregated between scrip, administration and accounting functions.

We have a separate company called Datvest Nominees (Private) Limited which has been set up to hold safe custody of clients’ securities.  For Pension Fund clients who require scrip to be held by a third party, we have in place a safe custody arrangement with Stanbic and Barclays Custodial Services.  There will naturally be an additional charge for this service.

All systems are fully supported by hard copy detailed systems procedure manuals or on-line help facilities.

Our auditors are Ernst and Young, who rely on these systems extensively when conducting our annual audit.
